Data Exports program is available from our Dynamic DB Browser and able Data Inspector utilities.

To start Data Export you must have a query opened and showing at least one record available for the export. Click "Export" button to start.

The following window will be displayed:

This is Table Export Parameters window where you can re-define export settings before you start the Data Export procedure.

See the export program window description below or click proper widget on the screen-shoot above.

Export Type Choose one of the following export formats: HTML, TEXT, MS EXCEL, DIF
Delimiter Specify fields delimiter for TEXT data format (TAB, comma, space, and custom defined options are available).
Folder name A folder name where to store the export file.
File Name Export file name (a file extension will be added automatically).
Column Labels Include/not include column labels into the export file. Labels come as a first row in a column displaying the fields names or fields labels, depending on what is shown as browser column labels.
Export Selected Record only Choose to export selected browser's records only.
Open the file when completed Open file in application, associate with export file format: default HTML browser for HTML format; Notepad for TEXT; MS EXCEL for Excel and for DIF.
HTML Template Open HTML template file in Notepad.
save as defaults Save current settings as default for all project database tables.
restore defaults Restore pre-defined settings for all project database tables.
OK and Cancel Start data export or close window without it.

Tips and Tricks

Advantages of our Data Export comparing to Progress Data Administration Export Data tool:

  • Does not requite Progress Development license;
  • Able to add column names to the export file;
  • Able to Export data to HTML format;
  • Able to export fields defined as EXTENT;
  • Able to remember export settings for each table individually;

Don't forget to save PRO4m project to disk to be able to access all your settings on your next PRO4m session.
