See also PRO4m Registration Help page for the examples.
PRO4m ENT Installation

A few words about ENT version before we start the installation description:

You can use both PRO4m (ENT and PRO) versions on one computer at the same time.
Both versions have to be installed into separate folders ("C:\Program files\PRO4m ENT" by default for ENT) and have its individual Confirmation IDs.
Confirmation ID for ENT version is automatically given to all customers who has purchased five or more PRO4m PRO licenses.
Detailed PRO4m ENT description can be found here.

1. Download and install PRO4m ENT as described in topic 1 above.

2. Create an empty - with any name except "pro4m.db" /reserved/ - database (every PRO4m ENT project requires its own, separate database).

2. Go to Data Administration and upload "misc\pro4mdb.df" schema file. Use "misc/projectfiles_to_DB.p" file if you want to export your existing project data into pro4mdb.db database.

3. Start PRO4m ENT. Choose the project database you've just created (pro4mdb.db). Enter the ENT Confirmation ID into the Registration window.

It's ready to use now. Once you have the "pro4mdb" database associated with a project (by exporting the datafile by "projectfiles_to_DB.p" or by performing a Project Scan procedure) - you will not have to additionaly open PRO4m project anymore (as you do it in PRO4m PRO) - it will open the associated project automatically.

To associate a project with PRO4m ENT startup link (to start the project automatically) - add the project database connection to your PRO4m ENT startup link, for example: -db C:\PRO4m\ENTdbs\myproject1.db -ld pro4mdb -1
Always use "-ld pro4mdb" for the project database connection then (!).

Tips and Tricks
  • Upgrading PRO4m you can safely overwrite your existing PRO4m installation folder;
  • There are two different Confirmation IDs for PRO4m PRO and ENT editions;
  • Do not forget that every PRO4m ENT edition project has to have its own database;
  • Performing "Uninstall PRO4m" will delete all PRO4m files from the hard drive but leave Windows Registry entries for possible future reuse. If you want to completely delete PRO4m installations from your Windows - find and delete all "PROGRESS PLUS SOLUTIONS" registry entries by Regedit utility.
